Back in The States...Then Jenny Had to Go

Once Jenny, Cyrus and I landed at RDU, we were
greeted by Kit, Matt and Marilyn. Prior to Mom
having a stroke, Kit fell from a ladder, broke his
elbow, had surgery and his wonderful sister,
Marilyn, took wonderful care of him. She and Julie
brought him food too. Gladys Ann brought Mom
to see him and brought food also. I was in Istanbul,
but our family took care of Kit, especially Marilyn.
So Marilyn drove Kit to pick us up in Raleigh. Matt
met us at the airport bringing an infant car seat for
Cyrus. How blessed we are with our family!

During the 10 days that Jenny was here in the States, she
was a busy woman. I was at the hospital and then Hospice
Home with Mom in a coma most of the time. Jenny cooked,
cleaned and drove her Dad to the see Mamaw, to the doctor
and anywhere else needed. God blessed us with Jenny
being able to come home with me. I don't know how we
would have functioned without her. Here she is on the
Cub Cadet mowing the yard since Kit was disabled.
We visited Mamaw at the hospital as soon as we could get
there on Wednesday morning. As we allowed her to hold
Cy's little arm, she squeezed it. We told her about him,
talked to her about many things. At that time, she was
able to squeeze our hands as a response. I was so thankful
for that. We would ask her to try to open her eyes too. She
couldn't open them, but as she raised her eyebrows, we knew
that she was trying. So I know that initially, Mom could
hear us, tried to communicate. So I know that she was
happy to at least touch Cyrus, her newest great grandson.

Matt, Kristen and Turner visited Mamaw at Hospice Home
on Saturday afternoon. Turner enjoyed his dinner sitting
on the floor!
Turner in action as he enjoys his dinner! A little later, our
family enjoyed delicious lasagna and salad that Emily, our
niece, prepared. Marilyn and Julie also contributed to the
meal. Marilyn, Ron, Emily, Julie, Joel, Sherman, Sandy,
Matt, Kristen, Turner, Jenny, Cyrus, Kit and I enjoyed
quality time together using the kitchen/dining area of
Hospice Home of High Point. Thank you family.
Once Adam, Melissa and Kiya arrived a few days later, they
had fun watching six cows take over our yard! Somehow
they got loose and enjoy eating whatever they could find
in our poor garden.

What beautiful, big, brown eyes!!!

Here's proof...Turner started crawling during Mamaw's
sickness and death. We needed a positive, something so
sweet and loving, to occur during our sadness. God blesses
us with precious children to help warm our hearts!

new nephew so soon. He was happy to get to meet him.
